What is the purpose of an Allied Health Recovery Request?

The purpose of an Allied Health Recovery Request is to ensure that patients receive the necessary care and treatment in a timely manner. By submitting this request, health practitioners are able to provide detailed information about the patient’s condition and the recommended course of treatment. This request is then reviewed by a workers’ compensation representative, who will determine whether or not the proposed treatment plan is approved.

2. You will also need to have documentation from the patient’s employer confirming that they were injured at work and that they are covered by workers’ compensation insurance.

How to submit an Allied Health Recovery Request?

To do so, you will need to complete and submit the Allied Health Recovery Request Form (AHRR), which can be found on the Sira website. Once your form has been submitted, it will be reviewed by a case manager to determine whether your treatment plan is eligible for reimbursement.

How to track an Allied Health Recovery Request?

If you are an Allied Health Professional treating a patient who has been injured at work, you may be wondering how to track their progress and ensure that they are receiving the best possible care. The Workers Compensation Guidelines for Approval of Treating Allied Health Practitioners (ESIRA) provides a clear and concise framework for tracking and approving treatment plans for patients.

The ESIRA guidelines state that all treatment plans must be approved by the patient’s employer or insurance company before any treatment can commence. This approval process is designed to protect both the patient and the health practitioner, ensuring that all necessary treatments are covered by workers compensation.

Once the employer or insurance company has approved the treatment plan, the health practitioner will need to complete an Allied Health Recovery Request (AHRR) form. This form is available online or from your local workers compensation office.

The AHRR form requires basic information about the patient, including their name, address, date of birth, and contact details. It also asks for details about the injury, including when it occurred and what type of injury it is. In addition, the form requires information about the proposed course of treatment, including how many sessions are proposed and what type of treatments will be provided.

Once the AHRR form is completed, it should be submitted to your local workers compensation office for approval. Once approved, you will be able to commence treating your patient in accordance with their approved treatment plan.

The employer or insurer will then have 28 days to respond to the request.

If the employer or insurer does not agree to reimburse the costs, the injured worker can appeal this decision through SIRA’s Dispute Resolution Service.

4. What expenses can I claim?

In general, any reasonable and necessary allied health treatment costs incurred as a direct result of the workplace injury can be claimed under an AHRR. This may include things like consultation fees, treatments costs and travelling expenses associated with attending appointments.
